Our members have a strong voice in legislation impacting our industry.
The construction industry creates jobs, opportunities for investment, and indirectly supports dozens of related industries from suppliers to mom-and-pop operations. One large-scale construction project may directly provide employment for hundreds and thousands of individuals, resulting in a rippling positive effect on the rest of the economy.
As a member-driven organization, one of the valuable resources the GCBA provides is representation in government at the federal, state, and municipal levels.
Government Affairs Committee:
GCBA’s Governmental Affairs Committee is comprised of member-volunteers, is empowered with the essential tools and knowledge necessary for direct involvement in the legislative and regulatory processes at all levels of government. Since our members build through a wide geographical area, we work hand-in-hand with neighboring HBAs and join with them in unity on issues important for all. Monthly meetings serve as a forum for policy discussion on current government issues and updates. The Government Affairs Committee provides strategic guidance and recommendations to the GCBA Board of Directors.

Political Action Committee:
GCBA PAC focuses on electing candidates in local and state elections who support economic development. Along with the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA-PAC), GCBA PAC screens and endorses candidates who support and recognize the importance of home ownership and home building.
